US Fish & Wildlife Service Announces Slickspot Peppergrass Will Again Be Listed As Threatened Under ESA
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on Monday announced that the slickspot peppergrass, a small, flowering plant found in only eight counties in southwest Idaho, will again be listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act. The ramifications are unclear, but when the plant was originally listed in 2009, Idaho Gov. Butch Otter filed a lawsuit challenging the listing because of its potential impacts on cattle grazing on public land.
