(Dow Jones) -- As food makers eliminate genetically modified crops from some products in response to consumer demand, biotech corn and soybeans could yet find their way into consumers' homes in other, nonedible products. Agricultural company Cargill outlines in its annual report an expanding array of bioindustrial products the company makes from plants, ranging from insulation to paint, doors and furniture cushions. More than 92% of US corn and soybean fields are planted with GMO crops, the vast majority of which are made into ethanol and animal feed, versus food for direct human consumption.
