Northwest Region Potato Stocks on December 1, 2015

Totaled 163 Million Hundredweight Potato stocks in Idaho on December 1, 2015 totaled 90.0 million cwt. Disappearance of the Idaho crop to date was 40.3 million cwt. December 1 potato stocks in Oregon totaled 17.0 million cwt. Disappearance to date was 4.78 million cwt. In Washington, December 1 potato stocks totaled 56.0 million cwt. Disappearance to date totaled 44.3 million cwt. Nationally, the 13 major potato States held 265 million cwt of potatoes in storage. Potatoes in storage accounted for 66 percent of the fall storage States’ production. Potato disappearance totaled 138 million cwt. Season-to-date shrink and loss totaled 12.9 million cwt. To December 1, 2015, processors in Idaho and Malheur County, Oregon have used 26.9 million cwt of potatoes. In Washington and other Oregon counties, 34.0 million cwt of potatoes have been used by processors. Processors in the 9 major States have used 75.1 million cwt of potatoes this season. Dehydrating usage accounted for 12.2 million cwt of the total processed.
