Farm Credit Mid-America Offers $17,500 for Youth Ag Projects

Young people with ideas to strengthen agriculture and rural communities can apply for funding through Farm Credit Mid-America’s new Youth in Ag Innovation Program. Applications are being accepted through December 1. The program will award a total of $17,500 to three youth organizations for projects that advance agricultural innovation and deliver measurable results. Hannah Walker, community investment manager at Farm Credit Mid-America, says young people can play an important role in shaping agriculture’s future. The top project will receive $10,000, with another $5,000 going to the Excellence Award winner and $2,500 to the Impact Award recipient. Funds must be used to implement the proposed projects. Eligible applicants include youth-led groups affiliated with organizations such as 4-H, FFA, schools, or other recognized youth-serving organizations. Participants are recommended to be ages 12 to 18 and must have an adult advisor or sponsor. Applications should outline project goals, measurable outcomes, and a timeline, while demonstrating potential.
