More than 500 international buyers from over 50 countries are in Seattle for Export Exchange 2026, looking to build business connections with nearly 300 U.S. suppliers and service providers. The event focuses on export opportunities for corn, sorghum, barley, distiller’s grains, and other agricultural products. It is co-sponsored by the U.S. Grains and BioProducts Council, Growth Energy, and the Renewable Fuels Association. Council Chairman Jay Reiners says export markets are important for maintaining strong demand for U.S. farm products. The conference includes sessions on grain quality and global market conditions, along with tours showing buyers U.S. farms, ethanol plants, and port facilities. A key development came on Friday, when the Council signed an agreement with BioPower Energy, a company planning to build a biorefinery in the United Arab Emirates. The agreement signals the company’s intention to source 50 to 100 percent of its feedstock from U.S. suppliers, potentially creating another export opportunity.
