DARL GLEED EXECUTIVE INTERN POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
The Idaho Cattle Foundation (ICF) is seeking one student for the 2016 Darl Gleed Executive summer intern position. This educational work experience in trade association management for the Idaho Cattle Association (ICA), ICF, and supporting affiliations serves a vital role in providing opportunity for the viability of Idaho’s cattle industry for many generations to come. Darl Gleed, for whom the internship was named, was instrumental in creating the Idaho Cattle Foundation to become an endowment for the cattle industry in Idaho. His leadership and passion for the industry will benefit cattle ranching families for many generations to come. Interested applicants should have completed at least their sophomore year of undergraduate coursework or be a recent college graduate in agriculture or an agriculture-related field. This is a full-time, temporary position. The work hours for this position will be approximately 40 hours per week. The internship provides an opportunity for students to participate hands-on in a non-profit organization, focusing on fundraising, membership recruitment, event planning and execution, and industry communications. The applicant will aid in furthering the Idaho cattle industry through innovative and effective educational and marketing programs supported by all industry segments, partners, and coalitions. “Internships are a crucial component of higher education, and allow students to earn credits and gain real-life perspective of the organizations that promote, protect, and preserve Idaho’s industries,” said Wyatt Prescott, Executive Vice President of ICA and secretary of ICF. “The Darl Gleed Executive Internship creates an environment for animal science and agriculture students to experience the work that goes on behind-the-scenes to keep our industry viable for years to come.”
