(Dow Jones) -- The Jordanian state grain agency
has issued another international tender to buy 100,000 tons of wheat,
local traders said Wednesday.
The tender had been expected after an identical
tender--plus one for 100,000 tons of barley--ended in failure on
Tuesday, a local trader added.
Jordan has found it difficult to buy grain in
recent months, having had similar issues during the same period last
year. One trader said that the body has enough stock and is now looking
to bolster its supplies at low prices. If prices aren't low enough, the
body is prepared to cancel the tender, the trader added.
