The 2016 Beef Quality Assurance program free-certification period is open now until April 15th. The registration period announced at the 2016 Annual Cattle Industry Convention allows producers free-certification, funded by sponsors and the beef checkoff. The BQA program, according to the beef checkoff, allows farmers to tell their story to consumers regarding best practices to provide high-quality beef. The BQA training is customized to fit the specific needs of each segment of the cattle industry – cow-calf, stocker, feedyard and dairy operations. The beef checkoff says obtaining certification can be a useful tool in the changing landscape where consumers want to be assured they are receiving a product raised in ways that align with BQA.
