Colombia has removed all restrictions on imports of U.S. beef, the U.S. Meat Export Federation said this week.
Recent updates to Colombia’s protocols mean that U.S. beef products produced on or after Dec. 7 are no longer subject to export verification (EV) requirements, that bone-in cuts are allowed, and that restrictions on meat derived from Canadian direct-slaughter cattle no longer apply.
These restrictions remain in place for any product produced before Dec. 7, which still must be EV-compliant to be eligible for export to Colombia. In addition, a new letterhead certificate for beef and beef products has been posted.
