Foreign 'guest workers' can be found working in every sector in Idaho
There are currently an estimated 4,400 workers from other countries working in Idaho, doing everything from moving irrigation pipe, picking crops and milking cows in the state's agricultural sector; working for Micron Technologies and teaching at universities in Idaho, and representatives of the various sectors said they could not get needed work done if not for these foreign workers, but critics of the federal guest worker program said employers use the visa program to avoid hiring local workers who would demand higher wages
