Northwest Region Hay Stocks Up Year-To-Year

Hay Stocks in the Northwest Region up 16 percent from 2015 Hay stocks on farms on May 1, 2016 totaled 950,000 tons in Idaho, up 6 percent from a year ago. May 1 stocks represent 20 percent of 2015 production. Disappearance from December 1, 2015 was 1.55 million tons. On-farm hay stocks in Oregon totaled 440,000 tons, up 17 percent from 2015. May 1 stocks are 14 percent of 2015 production. Disappearance from December 1, 2015 totaled 1.56 million tons. Washington on-farm hay stocks totaled 400,000 tons, up 48 percent from last year. May 1 stocks represent 14 percent of 2015 production. Disappearance from December 1, 2015 was 1.0 million tons. Hay stocks stored on United States farms totaled 25.1 million tons, up 3 percent from a year ago. May 1 stocks are 19 percent of 2015 production. Disappearance from December 1, 2015 totaled 69.9 million tons
