However, Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh will speak from Jackson Hole at 9 a.m. CDT, which traders and investors will surely tune in to given recent inflation concerns. After the close at 2:30 p.m. CDT, CFTC will wrap up the week with the Commitments of Traders report including position updates as of Tuesday, August 25.

A front is washing out across the far southern and eastern areas of the country on Friday, producing some areas of showers and thunderstorms. But a new system moving into the Northern Plains and Canadian Prairies will be bringing in more widespread showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. That will be the start of a much more active pattern across the northern tier heading into the first week of September.
