A report on U.S. retail sales is due out at 7:30 a.m. CDT, followed by the Federal Reserve's report on U.S. industrial production at 8:15 a.m. and an index of U.S. consumer sentiment at 9 a.m. The latest weather forecasts are still important as is any trade news ahead of Saturday's meeting between the U.S. and China. Friday is the last trading day for August hogs and August soybean contracts.
Weather
Scattered showers are expected across the Northern and Central Plains through the Upper Midwest on Friday and could be strong to severe. More scattered showers will be found in the Southeastern Plains through the Southeast and some showers may make their way northward into the eastern Midwest as well. Temperatures will be mild across the north but very hot in the south.
