Rain and snow are in store for the eastern Midwest Friday, adding to central U.S. precipitation which has sidelined spring fieldwork and delayed planting. Temperatures will continue below normal in northern and central areas, with some moderation in the central Plains and western Midwest. Southern areas have warmer and drier conditions for progress.
