Snow and freezing rain are in store for the central and south-central Plains and western Midwest Friday, causing safety and transportation hazards and stressing livestock. Southern Plains areas will have moderate to locally heavy rain, favoring wheat moisture. Bitter cold will be confined to the Canadian Prairies.
