The U.S. Census Bureau will release the U.S. trade deficit for December at 7:30 a.m. CST Wednesday, allowing USDA to have export sales data available later Wednesday morning. The Energy Department's weekly energy inventory report follows at 9:30 a.m. Traders will continue to monitor South American weather and may be cautious ahead of Thursday's WASDE report.

A system is moving out of the West and into the Northern Plains on Wednesday and that will be bringing a mix of rain and snow to the Northern Plains, increasing Wednesday evening. Isolated showers and thunderstorms will develop farther south as well as some breezy conditions. Temperatures ahead of the system continue to be very warm and record-breaking in some areas of the Upper Midwest.
