USDA's weekly report of export sales, weekly U.S. jobless claims and an update of the U.S. Drought Monitor are all due out at 7:30 a.m. CST, Thursday. The U.S. Energy Department will report on natural gas inventory at 9:30 a.m. Traders will continue to keep an eye on the latest weather forecasts and any trade news that might emerge. January contracts of soybeans and soy products are set to expire early Thursday.

Rain, snow and strong winds are in store for portions of the Northern Plains and northern through western Midwest Thursday. These conditions will combine with a colder temperature trend to bring on a blizzard threat later Thursday into Friday. High winds and dry conditions will also cover the Southern Plains; unfavorable for winter wheat.
