Thursday morning starts with weekly export sales, U.S. jobless claims and U.S. consumer prices, all reported at 7:30 a.m. CDT. Natural gas inventories are set for 9:30 a.m. followed by USDA's July WASDE and Crop Production reports at 11:00 a.m. CDT. Fed Chairman Powell returns to Capitol Hill for a second day of testimony.
Weather
Most primary crop areas will be dry Thursday. Precipitation will be limited to light rain in portions of the eastern Midwest and Southern Plains. The threat of heavy tropical rain and flooding in the central Gulf Coast and Delta during the next five days will be closely watched.
