BLM officials have requested proposals for the FY2018 Targeted Grazing Demonstration Areas
BLM officials have requested proposals for the FY2018 Targeted Grazing Demonstration Areas. Ranchers who operate in or near sage grouse Primary Habitat Management Areas (PHMA) where there are high concentrations of invasive plants -- especially cheatgrass and medusahead -- are encouraged to contact their local BLM field office to discuss the feasibility of participation in this program. Targeted grazing is intended to reduce the size and scope of catastrophic wildfires by using livestock to create fire breaks on the range. Proposals are due Monday, August 14, 2017.
