Corn and wheat inspections bullish while soybean inspections are neutral to bullish
(DTN) -- Corn and wheat inspections were bullish while soybean inspections were neutral to bullish in this week's export inspections report, according to DTN Analyst Todd Hultman.Corn weekly export inspections were 25.1 million bushels (636,684 metric tons) for the week ending Thursday, Dec. 29. This is above 14.9 mb for the same week a year ago. Inspections for 2016-17 totaled 671.5 million bushels, up 79% from the previous year and well above USDA's projected 17% demand increase. Monday's report remained bullish for corn, Hultman said.Soybean weekly export inspections were 58.0 mb (1,578,703 mt) for the week ending Dec. 29. This is below 59.7 mb for the same week a year ago. Inspections for 2016-17 total 1.211 billion bushels, up 18% from the previous year and above USDA's projected 6% demand increase. Monday's report was neutral to- bullish for soybeans, Hultman said.Wheat weekly export inspections were 14.5 mb (395,417 mt) for the week ending Dec. 29. This is above 12.9 mb for the same week a year ago. Marketing-year inspections for 2016-17 total 570.5 mb, up 28% from the previous year and above USDA's projected 26% demand increase. Monday's report was bullish for wheat, Hultman said.
