All Wheat Stocks Stored in Northwest Region Up 28 Percent from Last Year

 All wheat stored in all positions on December 1, 2016 totaled 72.5 million bushels in Idaho, up from 55.5 million bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were up 42 percent, while on-farm stocks were up 13 percent compared to the previous year. In Oregon, wheat stored in all positions totaled 34.1 million bushels, up from 29.6 million bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were up 9 percent, while on-farm stocks were up 52 percent compared to the previous year. In Washington, wheat stored in all positions totaled 130 million bushels, up from 99.6 million bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were up 26 percent, while on-farm stocks were up 92 percent compared to the previous year. Nationally, wheat stored in all positions totaled 2.07 billion bushels, up from 1.75 billion bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were up 21 percent, while on-farm stocks were up 13 percent compared to the previous year. Barley stocks in all positions on December 1, 2016 totaled 46.2 million bushels in Idaho, up from 40.3 million bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were up 20 percent, while on-farm stocks were up 10 percent compared to the previous year. In Oregon, barley stored in all positions totaled 1.09 million bushels, up from 819,000 bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were down 4 percent, while on-farm stocks were up 136 percent compared to the previous year. In Washington, barley stored in all positions totaled 5.96 million bushels, up from 4.95 million bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were up 17 percent, while on-farm stocks were up 45 percent compared to the previous year. Nationally, barley stored in all positions totaled 193 million bushels, up from 180 million bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were up 12 percent, while on-farm stocks were up 2 percent compared to the previous year. Oats stored in off-farm locations on December 1, 2016 totaled 358,000 bushels in Idaho, up from 196,000 bushels a year ago. In Oregon, oats stored in off-farm locations totaled 446,000 bushels, up from 291,000 bushels a year ago. In Washington, oats stored in off-farm locations totaled 85,000 bushels, up from 54,000 bushels a year ago. Nationally, oats stored in all positions totaled 75.5 million bushels, down from 82.7 million bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were down 2 percent, while on-farm stocks were down 17 percent compared to the previous year. Corn stored in off-farm locations on December 1, 2016 totaled 6.64 million bushels in Idaho, down from 8.80 million bushels a year ago. In Washington, corn stored in off-farm locations totaled 12.4 million bushels, up from 10.4 million bushels a year ago. Nationally, corn stored in all positions totaled 12.4 billion bushels, up from 11.2 billion bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were up 8 percent, while on-farm stocks were up 11 percent compared to the previous year.
