After seeing a report of slow job growth from
ADP on Wednesday, Friday morning will start with Labor Department
reports of non-farm payrolls and unemployment for May at 7:30 a.m. CDT,
important factors for the U.S. dollar. The rest of the day will be
concerned with planting conditions, weather forecasts and any news about
trade issues.
Widespread shower and thunderstorm activity is
expected during Friday from the lower Mississippi and Ohio rivers
through the southeast U.S. and the southern middle Atlantic region. This
is likely to mean moderate to heavy rainfall totals. A welcome change
in the southeast where it has been very hot and dry recently, except
areas of local flooding. Scattered showers today and tonight will also
occur from the northern Rockies across the Northern Plains and in the
Canadian Prairies. Dryness has been a concern in the Prairies and this
will help some of the area but some will also miss out. Drier elsewhere
in the key U.S. growing areas during Friday.
