Friday Watch List

The U.S. Labor Department will release employment data at 7:30 a.m. CDT Friday, followed by a report on June U.S. factory orders at 9 a.m. Traders will continue to watch the latest weather forecasts, but funds remain comfortable with their short positions in grains, so far.

Weather

A slow-moving system is working through the Eastern Corn Belt, bringing scattered showers Friday but with less of a threat of severe weather. Additional thunderstorms may develop along its front against the Rockies, especially the central High Plains. Showers may keep temperatures down a bit in those areas, otherwise heat continues across most of the country, breaking some records in the Pacific Northwest.
