The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have issued updated interim guidance for actions to protect agriculture workers from coronavirus exposure.
The guidance recommends that work site assessments be conducted, workers should be screened for symptoms, plastic barriers should be installed when distances of six feet between individuals are not possible and workers should be encouraged to use cloth face coverings in certain circumstances.
The guidance also calls for work sites to coordinate directly with appropriate state and local public health officials in development of plans to continue operations where COVID-19 is spreading among workers or in the surrounding community.
