Idaho grower presents $5,000 donation to Twin County United Way

McIntosh one of 10 winners in Grain for Good program

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. (August 7, 2018) – Ten charities will each receive a $5,000 donation as part of the Bayer Cereal Experts Grain for Good™ Sweepstakes. Doug McIntosh, a cereals grower from Lewiston, Idaho, selected the Twin County United Way as the recipient of one of the $5,000 donations. McIntosh said this generous donation will help the Twin County United Way to continue to fight for the health, education and financial stability for children across Asotin and Nez Perce counties. Samantha Skinner, Executive Director of the Twin County United Way, said, “This gift will support our education goal to increase the number of children reading at grade level by grade three and other efforts to help children succeed at school, graduate on time and enter the workforce prepared for a strong future.” The Grain for Good program offers cereal growers the opportunity to win a $5,000 donation from Bayer for a local nonprofit of their choice. Other nonprofits to benefit from this program include the Courtenay Rural Fire Department and Velva High School Ag Department. To enter in the sweepstakes, entrants had to grow 250+ acres of cereal crops in eligible states. No purchase was necessary and it was limited to one per person. Winners were selected randomly by a third party. The Bayer Cereal Experts are excited to see all the ways the donations will help communities.
